Speaking from his Duncan Aviation offices in Lincoln, Nebraska, aviation expert Rene Cardona says the private jet you buy (whether through Rene Cardona’s Aircraft Acquisition Program in Lincoln, Nebraska or elsewhere) does not necessarily have to serve only business and pleasure needs. Rene Cardona admits that the customers calling his Lincoln, Nebraska base are usually business people or private individuals and the aircraft are generally used to save time getting to and from business meetings or as convenient private transportation.
There are other uses to which private jets are put which may surprise some people, says Rene Cardona from his desk in Lincoln, Nebraska. Take Haiti, as the most recent example. According to Rene Cardona of Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln, Nebraska service facility, John Travolta is not the only private pilot who has flown his jet on a volunteer mission. There are in fact, says Rene Cardona, many organizations (one called Bahamas Habitat) that seek out pilots and private aircraft owners worldwide, asking them to donate relief mission flights.
All the costs of flying donations to the target are borne by the volunteer, and most of these individuals are not publicly recognized, points out Rene Cardona speaking from his offices at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska. This kind of volunteerism is beyond the scope of many people, but is recognized for what it is in the aviation industry, including at Nebraska’s Duncan Aviation headquarters, says Rene Cardona.
Volunteer pilots are also tapped for service in the United States with programs like Angel Flight, continues Rene Cardona. Pilots again donate their time, aircraft and fuel to fly medical patients to hospitals and clinics for what is usually life-saving treatment. Rene Cardona observes that their payback is giving back, doing good and -- sometimes -- a tax receipt from a registered non-profit.
